In this course students will learn both basic and advanced techniques of the glitch art method known as ‘sonification’. Sonification is the editing of raw visual data as if it were sound data. We’ll learn how to convert images and videos into sound and all the wonderful possibilities this opens up for glitch artists. It may sound like a complicated task of technical trickery, but it’s actually quite easy and FUN! The target audience for this workshop:
🎨 Artists: People who already make glitch and want to hone their skills and people who aren’t familiar at all but want to learn.
🌟 Prerequisites: PC/laptop with Windows, other operating systems will work but may have to workshop a bit.
🤝 Software: Audacity (Free) Reaper (60 days free evaluation version) PYUV (Free) VirtualDub (Free)

- PROOF 2: Course complete PROOF for those who mint the class project (attendance and final project delivery).
PROOF.

The setup - Ensuring all students have the proper programs installed as well as a basic familiarity with these programs
Module 2:
Basic techniques - Basic sonification techniques for achieving cool glitchy effects very quickly
Module 3:
Advanced techniques - Editing video in a more advanced DAW (Reaper) with scaling effect parameters that change over time
